Being on the move is essential for a utopian worldview. Both are recurring themes in the work of the late writer Irmtraud Morgner who is the subject of this film. The location that links the different threads of the narrative is a rail car on the Berlin S-Bahn. These travels lead to encounters with women - friends or acquaintances of Irmtraud Morgner - and places that figure prominently in her writings. The film mixes documentary passages and staged or experimental sequences.
