Shunned by the small village community, the boy Andreas lives in his own world, a village of snow that he built himself. His only companion is a snowman. The vagabond, who returns every year, is an outsider too and is only allowed to stay in the village until the snow melts. He is the only person who enters and understands Andreas' world.
